Real Madrid will play Atletico Madrid in a massive derby game in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday that could go a long way to determining who will win the league title this season. The game is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

There are just three points separating the teams coming into this game with Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid hoping to claim the win and three points that will see them pull up alongside their great local rivals once again.
Over the past decade the Spanish La Liga has always only ever really been a two horse race, with Real Madrid and Barcelona fighting it out for the title without much interference from anyone else. So this year, Atletico Madrid are like a breath of fresh air in La Liga. Simeone’s low budget team has exceeded all expectations and winning over many neutrals who hope they can pull off the unthinkable and displace both Real and Barcelona.
Since Valencia last won La Liga in 2004, Barcelona have won the title six times over with Real taking three titles, and over the last five seasons the gap between second and third place in the league table has always highlighted just how much the Spanish league has been dominated by just two teams. In those five seasons the gap between second and third has always been at least 17 points by the end of the season, but finally now someone is crashing the party.
Atletico Madrid have refused to fall away as the season has gone on as many had predicted and they are still hanging in there with a real chance at causing a major upset.
They have also been excellent in the Champions League; already taking a 1-0 lead after their last-16 first leg tie against AC Milan at the San Siro.
Atletico are currently level on points with Barcelona, however, they will be desperate to avoid defeat today, which would see them fall six points behind Real.
