Mario Balotelli will be called up by Cesare Prandelli for the two upcoming Italy matches against Denmark and Armenia, despite his three match Serie A ban.
The AC Milan striker broke the tactician’s code of ethics when he was sent off in Rossoneri’s match with Napoli for allegedly threatening to kill the referee after the full time whistle.
“Mario is already paying for his actions with a three-match suspension, so not calling him to the national team would represent adding unnecessary further punishment,” Prandelli told TG1.
“Am I angry with Mario? Of course, like everyone who cares about him.”
“Milan showed an exemplary behavior in not appealing against the ban,” added Prandelli.
