Italian giants chasing Villa star

Serie A sides Lazio and Juventus are both believed to be chasing Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.

The Belgian international has impressed in the English top flight since moving to Villa Park from Genk last year and the 22-year-old’s performances have not gone unnoticed in Italy.

Villa are thought to value Benteke at £30m and it would take a bid in that region for the West Midlands outfit to even consider letting their star player leave for Serie A.

Both Lazio and Juve are expected to table a bid in the January transfer window in the hope of signing the youngster on a permanent deal and bolstering their attacking options at the Stadio Olimpico and Juventus Stadium respectively.
