Sebastien Loeb will contest the Condroz Rally with his wife Severine next month.
The pair will drive a Citroen DS3 WRC backed by a Belgian beer company – and one of their primary rivals will be Citroen team principal Yves Matton and Daniel Elena, who will crew a Xsara.
Loeb, who retired from World Rally Championship competition in France earlier this month, admitted he had never intended to retire from the sport of rallying entirely.
The WRC’s rock star leaves the stages
This will be his first attempt at the Belgian classic, which runs from November 1-3.
“As you can imagine, from within the Citroen team, I have heard a lot about the Condroz Rally from [Belgian] Yves Matton,” Loeb said.
“This rally will be a bit like Le Touquet, with many changes of grip, narrow slippery roads.
“I’ve never competed in Belgium and I am looking forward to this event.”
Loeb joked that he and Severine might have the edge over Elena and Matton, given the “extra ballast” in the other car.
The Loebs are no strangers to competing together and have already won the Rally of Chablais this year.
