NBA superstar LeBron James has confirmed he has been approached by David Beckham to invest in his bid to bring Major League Soccer to Miami.

James, a two-time NBA Championships winner with Miami Heat, has become good friends with former Los Angeles Galaxy football ace Beckham, who is keen to introduced his own MLS franchise based in the city.
The basketball star already owns a minority share in English Premier League side Liverpool, and admits he is considering becoming one of the founding members of Beckham’s proposed football team.
“There’s some interest on both sides,” James said.
“David has become a good friend of mine over the last few years. I think it would be great for this city to have a football club for sure. There’s interest on both sides but it’s preliminary talks.”
Regarding the decision to base the team in Miami, he added: “The research is still being made out. I think it could be huge. You never know.
“I think this is a great town for soccer. There’s a lot of soccer players, there’s great youth soccer players here and people love the city as well. That definitely would help.”
