Juventus eased to a 2-0 win at Livorno on Sunday to go top in Serie A as goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon made his 500th appearance in the Italian top flight.

Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez scored in the second half for Juve. The two time-defending champions moved two points above Roma, who host Cagliari on Monday.

Juve faced something of a crisis in defence, with Stephan Lichtsteiner and Andrea Barzagli injured and Angelo Ogbonna and Leonardo Bonucci out suspended.
