POLL: Marquez vs Lorenzo

The 2013 MotoGP World Championship season will come down to a final round showdown for the first time since 2006 when Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo go head-to-head for the ultimate prize in motorcycle racing at Valencia.

With 13 points in hand, Marquez remains favourite on paper to become the first rookie MotoGP title winner since 1978, the youngster requiring just a fourth place result on home soil regardless of where Lorenzo finishes.

However, while unwavering consistency has certainly been the cornerstone to his remarkable campaign, Marquez heads to Valencia facing fairly unchartered territory and following a minor wobble in Japan that allowed Lorenzo to keep things open, the pressure is arguably on some very young shoulders.

Ironically, reigning champion Lorenzo knows better than most what a single mistake can do, the Yamaha rider committing a rare faux pas by high-siding dramatically out of the final race last season at the same circuit, even if he had already firmed the title by this stage.
