Both Udinese’s Antonio Di Natale and Bologna’s Panagiotis Kone have appeared as candidates for the annual FIFA Puskas award. Both Serie A players are part of the final 10-men shortlist from which this year’s winner will be chosen.
The FIFA award is named after Real Madrid legend, Ferenc Puskas, and is given by Fifa.com and FranceFootball.fr. The award recognizes the best goal scored in the year.
Di Natale has been nominated for the volley he scored in April against Chievo. As for Kone, he owes his inclusion for his impressive overhead kick in a 3-2 away win against Napoli, last December.
The two Serie A players are amongst esteemed company, with the likes of PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Barcelona’s Neymar also vying for the award. Fans from all around the world will be casting their votes to nominate this year’s winner.
The announcement of the winner will be made during next January’s Ballon d’Or ceremony, but you can see all the nominated goals here.
