Gerrard was followed by West Ham United’s 32-year-old Joe Cole, Chelsea’s 32-year-old Ashley Cole, Man United’s 32-year old Michael Carrick and 28-year old Ashley Young, respectively, and finally the youngest player to make the top ten list, Manchester City midfielder James Milner, who is 27 years old and came tenth.
The combined net worth of the top 10 footballers in the list was £255 million ($417 million).

Rooney made his Premier League debut for Everton at the age of 16 in 2002 and made his senior international debut for England in 2003. He was signed by Manchester United for £25 million in 2004.
The famous Argentine footballer Lionel Messi, who plays for Barcelona, once said Rooney’s passion for football was so strong that he would “play for 100 euros-a-week,” according to U.S.-based sports channel ESPN.
