Five of the best: La Liga starlets

Selasa, 10 September 2013

La Liga waved goodbye to several big-name players this summer, but the Spanish top-flight continues to produce some of the most gifted footballers on the planet.

The likes of Mesut Ozil, Radamel Falcao, Thiago Alcantara, Gonzalo Higuain, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo are just some of the high-profile footballers who have departed the Spanish league since the end of the 2012/13 campaign.

However, these exits could pave the way for the latest generation to emerge from the ranks and showcase their ability to the watching world.

On this list are five talented youngsters from different La Liga clubs who are set to shine over the coming months and seasons.

To qualify, each player must be aged 21 of under – ruling out the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Martin Montoya – but only one player per team is allowed, otherwise it would be tempting to fill the vacant spots with the multitude of starlets at Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Tell us about any other La Liga starlets that will make an impression over the course of the 2013/14 season – and remember, this is only five of the best youngsters in Spain, not necessarily the best five.
