Nürnberg 1-1 Mainz
Nürnberg earned a record that they won’t love to have after starting the season without a win in the first fifteen matches. Per Nilsson scored in the fifth minute to give Nürnberg a big boost, but Shinji Okazaki bagged the equalizer for Mainz in the 75th minute. Der Club will be disappointed in the point, as they had the better run of play for the majority of the match. They’re sitting on nine points for the year, all of them off of draws.

Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1 Schalke
Borussia Mönchengladbach pulled level on points in third place with Borussia Dortmund after Saturday’s big victory against Schalke. While most considered Schalke as favorites for the fourth Champions League place awarded to the Bundesliga, it’s looking like Gladbach will be fighting for the spot from the more advantageous place. Jefferson Farfan actually gave Schalke the advantage in the 17th minute, but Raffael equalized only minutes later to quickly get the crowd back into the match. Benedikt Höwedes was sent off just before halftime for his second yellow after handling the ball in the penalty area. Max Kruse converted the penalty to give Gladbach the lead. With the man advantage throughout the second half, Gladbach held things together for the three points.
Stuttgart 4-2 Hannover
A frenetic and exciting match ended with Stuttgart grabbing a 4-2 victory over Hannover. Martin Harnik gave Stuttgart the early lead, but Hannover countered with two goals from Artur Sobiech and Salif Sane to jump out in front. Just two minutes after Sane scored to give Hannover the lead, Vedad Ibisevic scored to equalize. Stuttgart controlled the second half and received goals from Ibrahima Traore and Konstantin Rausch to win 4-2.
Werder Bremen 0-7 Bayern Munich
Whoa. Bayern marched into the Weserstadion and pounded Werder Bremen to a 7-0 scoreline. They started rolling with an own goal from Assani Lukimya, and then quickly pulled the sword out and put it to Werder. Daniel Van Buyten, Franck Ribery (twice!), Mario Mandzukic, Thomas Müller, and Mario Götze all got on the scoresheet. Whoa. Bayern have now gone unbeaten in their last 40 Bundesliga matches. That’s unbelievable.
Hamburg 0-1 Augsburg
Raul Bobadilla scored in the 18th minute with a nice finish to give Augsburg the 1-0 lead. Hamburg never mounted many serious threats to the Augsburg goal during the match.
Eintracht Frankfurt 1-2 Hoffenheim
Hoffenheim received goals from Sven Schipplock and Roberto Firmino to cancel out a Joselu equalizer to give the visitors the 2-1 victory. Frankfurt have still yet to win at home this season.
Borussia Dortmund 0-1 Bayer Leverkusen
The big match of the weekend in world football was the battle for second place in the Bundesliga between Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen. Heung Min Son scored in the 18th minute to give Leverkusen the 1-0 victory over BVB. Leverkusen did well to control the match and continually threatened the BVB defense. Late in the match, Leverkusen’s Emir Spahic and BVB’s Sokratis Papastathopoulos received red cards to see both teams finish with ten men. At the end of the day, Leverkusen are four points behind first place Bayern Munich, while Dortmund are level with Gladbach ten points back of the leaders.
