The design, to be raced by Lorenzo and team-mate Valentino Rossi, was revealed during a ceremony in front of Yamaha dealers in Jakarta – underlining Indonesia’s importance in terms of motorcycle sales.
Again based on corporate colours, in the absence of a title sponsor, the lower part of the bike is almost identical to last year – but Yamaha has increased the amount of white on the upper part of the fairing and fuel tank (similar to the 2012 livery).
By contrast the rear fender now has more blue, creating a slender white line over the rear wheel. The front wheel fender has switched from white, to blue with a while line on top.
No new sponsors are listed, although these may appear closer to the start of the season. The main ‘Yamaha’ branding is however much larger than last year.

Double world champion Lorenzo lost out on last year’s MotoGP crown by just four points to Repsol Honda rookie Marc Marquez, despite requiring double collarbone surgery – and missing a race – due to two huge mid-season accidents.
Seven time MotoGP title winner Rossi returned to Yamaha last season and clinched his first race win since 2010 on the way to fourth in the final standings.
Lorenzo and Rossi will ride with their new colours for the first time during the opening pre-season test at Sepang in Malaysia next month.
