Juventus will attempt to shrug off their Coppa Italia elimination at the hands of Roma when they return to the Serie A wars this weekend.

The Turin giants, who have not lifted the Coppa since the 1994-95 campaign, lost 1-0 in the quarter-final in Rome on Tuesday to crash out of the competition.

The setback was only Juve’s second defeat in Italy this season and their first loss in 2014.

Antonio Conte’s men will return to the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday but this time to face Lazio.

“We don’t like to lose,” Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“The Coppa Italia was one of our aims this season and we are disappointed to have been eliminated.

“We must leave this setback behind us and concentrate on the match at Lazio.”

Juve beat Sampdoria 4-2 last weekend to clinch their 12th consecutive league triumph and go eight points clear of Roma at the top of the standings.

Roma, meanwhile, travel to Verona to face Hellas.

Gervinho’s solitary goal allowed them to avenge their 3-0 loss at Juventus in the league earlier this month.

The Giallorossi have won all of their games since and not conceded a goal in the process.

Napoli, who face Lazio in the Coppa next week, host Chievo on Saturday.

The Azzurri are third in the Serie A standings and hold the last Champions League qualifying spot.

Fiorentina trail three points behind Napoli and go into Sunday’s match against Genoa with Alessandro Matri available once again.

The Italian striker sustained a muscular problem on his debut last weekend but has recovered.

Inter Milan, still searching for their first win in 2014, take on bottom side Catania.

The Nerazzurri, beaten 1-0 at Genoa in the previous game, have mustered just one victory in their last seven matches.

Inter are fifth but could slip down the table if they fail to prevail this weekend with rivals Verona, Torino and Parma hot on their heels.

Verona are level with Inter on 32 points while Parma and Torino are a further two points adrift.

Parma have won two straight ahead of their home game against Udinese while Torino, with just one loss at home all season, host Atalanta.

AC Milan, who suffered their first defeat under new coach Clarence Seedorf this week, play at Cagliari on Sunday.

The Rossoneri fell 2-1 at home to Udinese on Wednesday to bow out of the Coppa Italia.

Seedorf’s side are seven points behind Inter, who hold the last Europa League qualifying spot.

Sunday’s game at Sampdoria could be Alessandro Diamanti’s last appearance for Bologna.

The Italian playmaker is reportedly considering a lucrative offer to join Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande this month.

Livorno are 19th in the table with just three wins from 20 games and will be at home to Sassuolo.

The Tuscan outfit this week appointed Mimmo Di Carlo as their third coach this season, replacing Attilio Perotti at the helm.
