The Norwegian heads into the event, the second round in the 2014 Norwegian Rally Championship, following a fourth place finish on Rallye Monte Carlo last week, the 2014 WRC season opener, a result he said felt like a ‘small victory’ .
“It is always good fun to drive a rally in Norway,” Ostberg told his personal website. “But this time I’m even more excited than ever! I so enjoyed the Citroen DS3 WRC in Monte Carlo, and can’t wait to finally test it on proper snowy conditions.
“I’m so pleased Citroen Racing offered me to do this event, and I strongly hope that I can continue the good learning process I started in Monte Carlo. Mountain Rally comes with great stages, both technical demanding and fast, so it is a perfect warm-up for Rally Sweden [round two of the WRC],” he added.
87 cars have entered the Mountain Rally, which comprises six special stages and a competitive distance of 79.49 kilometres.
